Accesibility statements

This Accessibility Statement sets out Feel Zurich’s approach to accessibility in relation to its website and Experiences. It describes the measures taken to improve accessibility, known limitations and the means available to request assistance or communicate an accessibility requirement.

Feel Zurich aims to provide information and Experiences that can be accessed and used by guests with different accessibility needs, to the extent reasonably practicable and having regard to the nature of the relevant service.

This Statement should be read together with the General Terms & Conditions and the Travel & Safety Policy.

Scope

IN THIS POLICY

01. SCOPE

This Statement applies to the public website operated by Feel Zurich and to accessibility considerations relating to tours, excursions, transfers and other Experiences offered or arranged by Feel Zurich.

Website accessibility and accessibility of physical Experiences are subject to different technical and operational considerations.

The accessibility of a particular Experience may depend on the route, location, terrain, buildings, transportation, activities, weather conditions and facilities operated by third parties.

This Statement does not guarantee that every page, feature, route, venue, vehicle or service is accessible to every person.

02. ACCESSIBILITY APPROACH

Feel Zurich uses the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 Level AA as an important reference for its ongoing work on the accessibility of its website.

The WCAG principles provide a framework under which digital content should, among other things, be:

  • Perceivable;

  • Operable;

  • Understandable; and

  • Robust.

Feel Zurich seeks to apply these principles where reasonably practicable within the capabilities of the website platform and the technologies used to provide the website.

The website may include functionality, content or services supplied by third parties. Accordingly, Feel Zurich does not represent that every page, document, function or third-party component currently conforms to every WCAG 2.2 Level AA success criterion.

Accessibility is treated as an ongoing process. Feel Zurich may identify and address accessibility issues as part of website updates, content revisions and user feedback.

03. WEBSITE ACCESSIBILITY

Where reasonably practicable, Feel Zurich aims to:

  • use clear headings, labels and page structures;

  • provide meaningful alternative text for informative images;

  • maintain readable typography and appropriate visual contrast;

  • provide descriptive link and button labels;

  • support keyboard navigation for core website functions where permitted by the website platform;

  • structure forms and instructions in a reasonably clear manner;

  • avoid unnecessary visual effects that may create accessibility difficulties; and

  • consider accessibility when creating or substantially revising website content.

The effectiveness of these measures may vary depending on the browser, device, operating system, assistive technology or third-party component used by the visitor.

04. KNOWN AND POTENTIAL LIMITATIONS

Certain accessibility limitations may remain on the website.

These may include:

  • older pages or content that have not yet been fully reviewed;

  • photographs or other visual content for which an alternative text equivalent may not always be available;

  • maps, route information or other visual travel content that may not have a complete text equivalent;

  • PDF or other downloadable documents that may not be fully optimized for assistive technologies;

  • third-party forms, payment services, booking systems, maps, embedded content or other external functionality; and

  • technical issues affecting navigation, focus, contrast, zoom or keyboard operation that may arise from website templates, software updates or particular browser and device configurations.

Feel Zurich will consider reported accessibility barriers and, where reasonably practicable, seek to correct the issue or provide an alternative means of accessing the relevant information or service.

05. ASSISTANCE AND ALTERNATIVE ACCESS

Where a visitor is unable to access information or use a website function because of an accessibility barrier, Feel Zurich will, where reasonably practicable, seek to provide an alternative means of obtaining the relevant information or completing the relevant request.

Depending on the circumstances, this may include:

  • providing information by email;

  • providing the relevant information in an alternative format where reasonably practicable;

  • assisting with an enquiry or booking directly by email, telephone or WhatsApp; or

  • providing another reasonable communication method where available.

Visitors should inform Feel Zurich of the assistance required and, where possible, identify the information, function or service they are trying to access.

A visitor is not required to disclose a medical diagnosis or other information that is not reasonably necessary to address the accessibility request.

06. ACCESSIBILITY OF EXPERIENCES

Feel Zurich recognises that accessibility requirements vary between individuals and that the accessibility of an Experience depends on its specific characteristics.

Depending on the Experience, participation may involve:

  • walking for extended periods;

  • stairs or steps;

  • cobblestones or uneven surfaces;

  • slopes or changes in elevation;

  • crowded or narrow areas;

  • public transportation;

  • private vehicles;

  • boats or other forms of transportation;

  • historic buildings with limited step-free access; or

  • outdoor conditions affected by weather.

Information concerning material accessibility characteristics will be provided where reasonably relevant to the Experience.

Where reasonably practicable, Feel Zurich may consider adjustments such as:

  • modifying the route;

  • adjusting the pace;

  • selecting an alternative meeting point;

  • allowing additional rest periods; or

  • considering alternative transportation arrangements.

The availability of any adjustment depends on the particular Experience and may be affected by safety requirements, terrain, weather, operational constraints and third-party facilities.

An adapted Experience may therefore differ from the standard or advertised itinerary.

Feel Zurich does not guarantee that every Experience is suitable for every accessibility requirement.

Where an accessibility requirement is essential to a guest’s ability to participate, the guest should contact Feel Zurich before booking so that the available options can be discussed.

third party

07. THIRD-PARTY SERVICES

Certain Experiences may involve services or facilities operated by independent third parties, including:

  • public transportation operators;

  • private transportation providers;

  • museums and attractions;

  • restaurants;

  • boats;

  • cable cars or mountain transportation;

  • accommodation providers; and

  • other venues or service providers.

Feel Zurich does not control the accessibility standards, facilities or policies of independent third parties.

Where reasonably available, Feel Zurich will provide relevant accessibility information concerning third-party services included in an Experience.

Where a particular accessibility requirement depends on a third-party facility, Feel Zurich may need to obtain confirmation from that provider before confirming the relevant arrangement.

Where a guest independently books or visits a third-party service, the accessibility arrangements of that provider apply.

08. REQUESTING ACCESSIBILITY ASSISTANCE

Guests are encouraged to communicate accessibility requirements as early as reasonably possible and, where the requirement is essential to participation, before making a booking.

Relevant information may include, where applicable:

  • use of a wheelchair or mobility aid;

  • limitations concerning stairs, slopes or walking distances;

  • the need for regular seating or rest periods;

  • hearing or visual access requirements;

  • communication requirements;

  • assistance-animal requirements;

  • mobility equipment or transportation requirements; or

  • any other requirement that may materially affect participation.

Feel Zurich will request only information reasonably necessary to determine whether an Experience can accommodate the stated requirement.

Where an adaptation is agreed as an essential condition of the booking, Feel Zurich may record the agreed arrangement in the booking confirmation.

Guests should not assume that an adaptation has been arranged unless Feel Zurich has expressly confirmed it.

feedback

09. FEEDBACK AND REPORTING A PROBLEM

Feel Zurich welcomes reports of accessibility barriers affecting the website or an Experience.

When reporting a website accessibility issue, it is helpful to provide:

  • the relevant page or function;

  • a description of the difficulty encountered;

  • what the visitor was attempting to do; and

  • the preferred method of receiving the relevant information or assistance.

Where relevant and voluntarily provided, information concerning the browser, device or assistive technology used may assist Feel Zurich in identifying the cause of a technical accessibility issue.

Visitors should provide only information reasonably necessary for the purpose of addressing the issue.

Personal information submitted in connection with an accessibility request will be handled in accordance with the Privacy Policy.

10. REVIEW AND UPDATES

Feel Zurich may review this Statement periodically and following significant changes to its website, services or accessibility practices.

Feel Zurich may update this Statement to reflect changes in its services, identified accessibility limitations, improvements or applicable requirements.

The current version of this Statement will be published on this page together with the applicable Last updated date.
